Computers for Public Use

The public may access the library’s internet computers by logging on with a valid library card from a Milwaukee County Public Library or with a guest pass, which can be obtained at the service desk.

 

Adult Computer Stations:
There are 9 computer stations in the adult area available for public use by those 15 and
older. There is a time limit of 2 hours for computer use. If there is at least one open computer, you may be able to renew your session for an additional hour. In addition to internet access, the computers have:

  • Windows 10

  • Microsoft Office 2016 (Word, Excel, Publisher & PowerPoint)  

  • A variety of Online Databases

Kids and Teens Computer Stations:
There are 6 computers in the children's area available to those 12 and under and 2 computers in the young adult area for those 12 and older.  Users are limited to 1 hour per day. They all have internet access as well as Microsoft Word 2010 and Publisher 2010, and a variety of games. 

FAQs:

  • Printing is allowed at a cost of 15 cents per page for black and white copies and 30 cents per page for color copies. All printouts, including those from the youth area, are sent to the photocopier next to the adult computer lab.

  • Headphones are available upon request.

  • Use of flash drives is allowed.

  • Library computers can read files from CDs, but cannot burn files to CDs.

  • Library computers do not have floppy disk drives.
